2018 Pantone Color of The Year - Ultra Violet
2018 Pantone Color of the Year
This year’s pantone color was announced as Ulta Violet! The world renowned authority of color, Pantone, LLC updated us last month about this year’s color trend, and we’re pretty happy about it. The color is described as a blue based purple tone and is said to elicit feelings of contemplation. The hue is authentic, soft and romantic. I would also like to add that the color is ethereal and regal. I could keep adding adjectives and descriptive words, but I won’t because that would be boring.
As we’re all designers here - let’s get down to the nitty gritty of how to use this color for your wedding clients, your sympathy flower arrangements and your mixed bouquets. It shouldn’t be too hard. First of all, there are a ton of flowers that can fit into this color spectrum. You can find several orchid varieties, tulips will also be quite lovely and eye catching, we also have a beautiful purple hydrangea that would be absolutely stunning.
Always remember - you can enhance your centerpieces or bridal bouquets using ribbon or pantone-inspired colors with the flowers. For example, using an all white bouquet of peonies, you could wrap the stems with a soft velvet ultra violet colored ribbon to add texture and intrigue.
Even if you’re not big in to chasing the pantone color of the year trends, they’ll inevitably seep into our clients minds, and they’ll settle there while the color wave makes its way through the creative world. We can’t really escape it, but we can plan for it. Knowing what is coming will help you stay on your toes and keep your customers happy.
